Redmi Note 17 4G / 5G

Redmi Note 17 — the largest in the series, despite lacking the Pro label

In the Redmi Note 17 series, it is the standard version that is the largest. Xiaomi lists its dimensions as 169.70 × 79.14 × 8.45 mm and its weight as 224–225 g, and the front is taken up by a 6.99-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G have a smaller 6.83-inch screen and are more than 6 mm shorter — neither their cases nor their glass will fit.

The phone comes in two variants: the Redmi Note 17 (4G) and the Redmi Note 17 5G. They differ in processor and network support, while the body has the same dimensions according to the specifications. Both are IP65 rated, meaning resistance to dust and jets of water — more modest than the IP68 of the Pro versions, which is another argument for a snug-fitting case.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 case — which to choose

• Flexible cases — clear and thin, they leave the colour of the body visible.
• Semi-transparent cases with a coloured frame — with a matte back that picks up fewer fingerprints.
• Rugged cases — with thicker corners and a lip around the screen, in several colours.

With a phone this large, a case also improves grip — a smooth back easily slips out of your hand, especially when using it one-handed. Check the product name to see whether your version (4G or 5G) is listed.

Redmi Note 17 4G / 5G tempered glass

A large screen is more exposed to scratches from keys and sand in your pocket, so it is worth fitting protection straight away. Options include:

• tempered glass — clear, with a black frame or matte to reduce glare,
• privacy glass — narrows the viewing angle, useful on public transport,
• hybrid glass and films — hydrogel, matte or ceramic, thinner and flexible,
• back film and camera lens protector — protect the back of the phone and the lenses from scratches.

Glass bundles with a case or a camera protector make it easy to get complete protection in one go.

Accessory brands for the Redmi Note 17

These accessories come from brands such as BizonMobile, GrizzGlass and 3mk. Glass and films are cut to the dimensions of the 6.99-inch screen, so they don't need trimming.

Charging and mounts for the Redmi Note 17

The phone charges at up to 45 W wired via the USB-C port; the specifications do not mention wireless charging. A spare USB-C cable is in the cables category. Given its weight of approx. 225 g and its height, it is worth choosing a stable mount with a wide arm range — see our phone mounts.
