Ethernet
Ethernet cables provide a stable and fast internet connection — without the latency and speed drops typical of Wi-Fi. A wired network connection is the standard for online gaming, 4K streaming, working with large files and anywhere reliability matters.
In our range you will find Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 7 network cables from Ugreen and Baseus — with shielding, flat and round, in lengths from 1 to 10 metres.

Ethernet cable — stable internet without compromise
An Ethernet network cable is the most reliable way to get a fast and stable internet connection. Unlike Wi-Fi, a wired connection is not susceptible to interference from other devices, walls or neighbouring networks. That is why gamers, streamers and remote workers choose an Ethernet cable as their primary connection.
Network cable categories — Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 7
Not all Ethernet cables are the same. They differ by category, which determines maximum throughput:
- Cat 5e — up to 1 Gbps, sufficient for most home uses and standard internet
- Cat 6 — up to 10 Gbps over short distances (up to 55 m), better shielding, less crosstalk
- Cat 6a — up to 10 Gbps over the full 100 m, ideal for extensive installations
- Cat 7 — up to 10 Gbps with double S/FTP shielding, maximum interference protection
For home use with an internet connection up to 1 Gbps, Cat 5e or Cat 6 is sufficient. If you are planning infrastructure for faster internet (2.5 Gbps, 10 Gbps), it is worth investing in Cat 6 or higher straight away.
Flat or round Ethernet cable?
Flat cables are easier to run along skirting boards and under carpets — they are discreet and unobtrusive. Round cables, on the other hand, typically have better shielding and are more resistant to physical damage. For a typical home installation, both types will work well.
Uses for network cables
- Online gaming — lower latency (ping) and more stable connection than via Wi-Fi
- 4K/8K streaming — without buffering and picture quality drops
- Remote work — reliable connection for video conferencing and cloud-based work
- NAS and home servers — fast file transfer on the local network
- Smart TV and consoles — stable connection for VOD services and online games

Frequently asked questions
Which Ethernet cable for home — Cat 5e or Cat 6?
If your internet speed is up to 1 Gbps, Cat 5e is fully sufficient and cheaper. Cat 6 is worth choosing when you plan to upgrade to faster internet (2.5 Gbps+) or need better shielding in an environment with many electronic devices.
Does Ethernet cable length affect speed?
At home distances (up to 30-50 m) you will not notice any difference. The Ethernet standard guarantees full speed over distances up to 100 metres. Problems may only arise on very long cable runs without patch panels and amplifiers.
