Xiaomi 18 Pro

The Xiaomi 18 Pro is the smaller of the two models in the series, but its back looks nothing like a typical smartphone — the camera island holds an extra touchscreen right beside the lenses. A case for this model has to be cut out for the whole island, otherwise it covers the display and takes away the point of it. In this category you will find cases, tempered glass, films and lens protectors made for the Xiaomi 18 Pro alone.

Xiaomi 18 Pro — what decides which accessories fit

The Xiaomi 18 Pro is the smaller of the two variants in the series. When you are choosing a case or a screen protector, what matters most is the back of the phone, because it is laid out differently from most smartphones. The camera island takes the form of a wide horizontal rectangle with rounded corners. Two round lenses sit one above the other on its left side, and on the right there is an extra colour touchscreen. The third lens, together with the flash, has been moved into a separate elongated module below the island. The body carries the engraving LEICA VARIO-SUMMILUX 1:1.67-2.4/17-75 ASPH.

The rear screen and the cutout in the case

The extra display shows app cards and works by touch, so a case must not cover it or hide it under a sheet of plastic. Check the product photos to see whether the cutout takes in the whole island — lenses and screen together. Covers with two round holes for the camera simply do not fit this model.

The second thing to look at is the edge of the cutout. If it creeps even a millimetre onto the active area of the rear screen, gestures near the edge start missing your touch. A tall lip around the optics protects the lens glass when you set the phone down, but in this design it can also limit the viewing angle on the display — it pays to look for a middle ground.

Size, weight and grip

The model holds a battery of around 7000 mAh, which usually means a body heavier than average. The practical conclusion is simple: a slim case gives a better grip than a bulky rugged one, which adds more weight and lifts the phone further off the table. If protection matters to you, look for hybrid designs — a hard back, a flexible frame, reinforced corners — rather than the heaviest armour. Covers with a textured finish or a non-slip coating work better here than smooth, slippery plastic.

Which accessories to choose for the Xiaomi 18 Pro

  • Silicone and TPU cases — the lightest option, and good at absorbing short drops.
  • Rugged and hybrid cases — reinforced corners, often with a stand or a grip.
  • Cases with a magnetic ring — for anyone using car mounts and stands.
  • Tempered and hybrid glass for the front display, ideally with adhesive across the whole surface.
  • Hydrogel films, when you want full coverage of the curved edges.
  • Lens protectors that cover the optics only, without reaching onto the rear screen.

What to watch out for when buying

The model names in this series are very similar, while the bodies differ in size. Accessories for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will not fit the smaller frame, so filtering by the name of the series is not enough — pick the category for the specific variant. Everything else for both sizes is gathered in the Xiaomi 18 series section.

Cases from the previous generation are out of the question too. The back panel of the Xiaomi 17 Pro has a completely different camera module layout, and a second display on the back did not exist there at all, so a matching cutout is impossible. Before you buy a screen protector, it is also worth checking the listing to see whether the manufacturer confirms compatibility with the in-display fingerprint reader.
