That single feature decides which accessories will work, because a case has to be cut out for the whole module, not just for the lenses. Xiaomi 18 series accessories — where to start
The Xiaomi 18 Pro series comes in two sizes, and both models share the same unusual rear design. The camera island is a wide horizontal rectangle with rounded corners: two round lenses stacked one above the other on the left, and an extra colour touchscreen on the right. Below the island, outside it, sits an elongated module with the third lens and the flash. The optics were developed with Leica, as the LEICA VARIO-SUMMILUX engraving on the body reminds you.
Models in the series
- Xiaomi 18 Pro — the smaller of the two variants, with a battery in the region of 7000 mAh.
- Xiaomi 18 Pro Max — a larger body and a bigger cell of around 8500 mAh.
The two models differ in size, so cases and screen protectors are not interchangeable between them. Before you add an accessory to your basket, make sure you are in the category for the right variant — the names are similar, the bodies are not.
Why the screen in the camera island changes how you pick a case
The rear display shows app cards and responds to touch. A case that covers it with plastic, or leaves only two round holes for the lenses, takes that function away. In this series the cutout has to take in the whole island, screen included, and its edge should not creep onto the active area of the display. It is also worth checking how high the lip around the lenses is — too tall, and it can cast a shadow across the corner of the rear screen when you look at the phone from an angle.
The same rule applies to camera glass. Protectors described as covering "the whole module" are often designed for classic islands that hold nothing but lenses. For this series, look for covers that sit over the lens glass only and leave the display clear.

Do Xiaomi 17 accessories fit the Xiaomi 18?
No. The layout of the back panel is different from the Xiaomi 17 series, and the extra screen in the island has no equivalent there. A case from the Xiaomi 17 Pro or the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max will not fit — at best it covers part of the module, at worst it will not go on at all. Front screen protectors should likewise be chosen only from listings that name the specific model in this series.
