Fitting it step by step
Degrease the screen with an isopropyl alcohol wipe and dry it with a microfibre cloth, then lift the remaining dust with the sticker from the kit — floating dust is the most common cause of a failed installation, so work away from draughts, ideally in the bathroom after a hot shower. Lower the pane onto the middle of the screen and let the adhesive spread outwards by itself; sliding it in from the edge ends in a crooked pane and air underneath. A bubble of plain air can be pushed towards the nearest edge with the squeegee. One that is still there after a night means there is a speck under the pane — you need to lift the corner and pick it off with tape. Clean the oleophobic coating with a dry microfibre cloth only.
Glass and cases
Case-friendly glass is cut slightly narrower than the display panel so the inner frame of the case cannot lift its edge.
