Redmi Note 12S

Redmi Note 12S — specs that matter when choosing accessories

The Redmi Note 12S stands out in the Redmi Note 12 series with its smaller screen: the flat FHD+ AMOLED panel is 6.43 inches, with a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. The body measures 159.87 × 73.87 × 8.09 mm and weighs 176 g. On the back there is a triple camera with a 108 MP main sensor, the fingerprint reader is built into the side button, and the edges hold a USB-C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and an infrared blaster. The phone charges by cable at 33 W and does not support wireless charging.

Larger models in the series, such as the Redmi Note 12 4G or Redmi Note 12, have 6.67-inch screens — their cases and glass do not fit the Note 12S.

Which Redmi Note 12S case should you choose?

Rugged and hybrid

Rugged cases have thicker corners and a raised lip around the screen and cameras. There are also covers with a hard, smoked back and a coloured frame, as well as ones with a finger grip that makes one-handed use easier and works as a stand.

Silicone and clear

Lightweight silicone or flexible TPU covers barely add to the size of the phone. Clear ones show off the colour of the body, while solid-colour silicone ones sit more securely in the hand.

Flip and with a camera cover

Flip cases cover the screen and have card pockets. Covers with a sliding lens cover protect the camera island when the phone is lying on a table or in a pocket. Such designs are made by Tech-Protect, among others, while rugged and silicone cases come from Bizon.

Tempered glass and films for the Redmi Note 12S

• Tempered glass — full-adhesive, with a black frame that hides the edge; on a flat screen, application is simple.
• Hybrid glass — flexible and thin, good for those who often change cases.
• Films — hydrogel, matte, ceramic and antibacterial; a matte film reduces glare in the sun.
• Privacy glass — it stops others from seeing the screen from the side.
• Camera glass — separate scratch protection for the 108 MP lenses.

You will find screen protection from 3mk, Bizon, Hofi, MyScreen, Tech-Protect and GrizzGlass. There are also sets that combine screen glass with camera protection.

What to look for when choosing Note 12S accessories

• Model name — choose accessories described as Redmi Note 12S; in this series, the letter “S” means a different body size.
• Glass and case compatibility — glass labelled “case friendly” or with a frame leaves a margin at the edge and does not lift under a case.
• Charging — for up to 33 W, a smartphone charger with fast charging support is enough.

You will find accessories for the other phones in the Redmi Note 12 Series category.
