Moto Edge 70 Plus

Motorola Edge 70 Plus accessories are best chosen with the two most vulnerable areas in mind: the curved 6.78-inch AMOLED screen and the 200 MP camera. Hydrogel films that conform to the rounded edges are the best fit for a curved screen, and a camera lens protector will shield the lens.

The Edge 70 Plus has a different body from the other models in the series, so choose accessories labelled with exactly this name.

Motorola Edge 70 Plus — the design that determines protection

The Edge 70 Plus measures around 162.7 × 75.7 × 8.5 mm and weighs 196 g. It has a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen curved at the edges, with a 144 Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 7i. The back has a leather-like finish, and the frame is plastic. The phone is IP64 rated, meaning it withstands splashes and dust, and holds MIL-STD-810H durability certification. On the back there is a 200 MP main camera with optical image stabilisation and a 2 MP macro lens.

From an accessories point of view, the shape of the screen matters most. Because of the rounded edges, ordinary flat tempered glass would not adhere at the sides — it would leave an air gap and, over time, lifting edges.

Motorola Edge 70 Plus hydrogel film

Hydrogel film is flexible, so it settles over the curved edges and covers almost the entire screen. Minor scratches on its surface smooth out over time, and the optical in-display fingerprint sensor usually works through it without any problem — if recognition gets worse, register your fingerprint again. A few tips for application:

  • Clean and degrease the screen, and pick up dust with the sticker from the kit before removing the protective layer.
  • Start at the top edge and the front camera cut-out, then press the film down towards the bottom.
  • Small bubbles usually disappear within a day — don't lift the edges in the meantime.
  • If you plan to use a case, choose one whose lip doesn't overlap the curved part of the screen and push the film off.

Edge 70 Plus camera lens protector

The module with the 200 MP lens protrudes above the back, and it is the first thing to touch the table when the phone lies screen up. A camera lens protector takes scratches and knocks before they reach the lens covers and doesn't affect image sharpness if fitted properly. Screen and camera protection for this model is offered by brands such as GrizzGlass and BizonMobile.

What to look out for — compatibility and charging

It is easy to mix up models in the Edge 70 series. The Moto Edge 70 Pro has a similar height and width but is thinner (7.2 mm) and has a different camera layout, and the Moto Edge 70 Fusion+ is a separate model with its own accessories. A film or camera protector from another model won't match the cut-outs, so check the full name of the phone. You will find all variants in the Moto Edge 70 Series category.

The Edge 70 Plus charges via USB-C at up to 45 W and does not support wireless charging. You can choose a suitably rated power adapter and a spare cable in the wall chargers and USB-C to USB-C cables categories.

Frequently asked questions

Is glass or film better for the Motorola Edge 70 Plus?

With a curved screen, hydrogel film is the more practical choice — the flexible layer also adheres to the rounded edges.

Is the Edge 70 Plus waterproof?

It is IP64 rated, which means protection against dust and splashes, but not against immersion.
