POCO F9 Pro

POCO F9 Pro — a compact model with a wide camera island

According to the manufacturer, the POCO F9 Pro measures 157.49 × 75.25 × 8.79 mm and weighs 206 g. The front is taken up by a flat 6.59-inch AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, the frame is aluminium, and the back is made of glass-fibre reinforced plastic. At the top of the back sits an elongated camera island — it houses a 200 MP camera and a telephoto lens, among others. The body is IP68 rated.

The phone is the global version of the Chinese Redmi K100 Pro. The two differ in battery capacity, among other things, so it is worth comparing the dimensions of accessories bought for the Chinese-market version before treating them as interchangeable.

POCO F9 Pro case — what to look out for

The wide camera island needs a case with a large, precise cut-out and a raised lip around the module — this protects the lenses when the phone is lying on a table. Options include:

• flexible cases — clear and thin,
• semi-transparent cases with a frame — with a matte back and a coloured edge,
• cases with a magnetic ring — let you use magnetic mounts, wallets and chargers,
• matte coloured cases — for those who want to change the look of their phone.

Case and tempered glass bundles are another convenient option.

POCO F9 Pro tempered glass

The flat screen lets you apply tempered glass across the whole surface without the risk of lifting at the edges. You can choose clear glass, glass with a black frame, anti-glare matte glass and privacy glass. Thinner alternatives are hybrid glass and hydrogel, matte and ceramic films. A back film will protect against scratches, and a separate camera lens protector will cover the lenses.

POCO F9 Pro accessory brands

Accessories come from brands such as BizonMobile, GrizzGlass and 3mk. Glass sets with a camera protector are handy if you want spares for replacement.

POCO F9 Pro wireless charging

The POCO F9 Pro charges at up to 100 W wired and up to 50 W wirelessly — it reaches full wireless power on a compatible Xiaomi charger. For everyday charging at your desk, wireless chargers are a good fit, and for a magnetic ring case you can choose MagSafe magnetic accessories. The phone can also wirelessly charge earbuds placed on its back.
