Protection types — tempered glass, ceramic film, matte film, hybrid

Not all screen protection is the same. Below are the four main types available in this category:

Tempered glass

Hard 9H coating, optimal clarity, protects against scratches and impacts. Frequently asked questions

Does a screen protector for the original Nintendo Switch fit the Switch 2?

No. Nintendo Switch 2 has a screen with different dimensions than the original Switch — glass or film designed for the older model will not sit flush and may not cover the entire screen surface. For Switch 2 look for products labelled "Nintendo Switch 2" or "Switch 2" in the name.

Tempered glass or ceramic film — which to choose for Steam Deck?

Tempered glass offers better scratch resistance and greater clarity. Ceramic film is thinner and more flexible — lower risk of shattering if the console is dropped, but weaker scratch protection. For active use of the Steam Deck while travelling, tempered glass is the better choice; ceramic film suits users who want minimal visual impact on the device.

How to apply screen protector on Steam Deck or ROG Ally without air bubbles?

Glass protectors with a dedicated framed installation tray are the easiest to apply. For other glass: clean the screen with a microfibre cloth, remove dust from corners, and apply in a clean room (less dust in the air). Bubbles smaller than 2 mm usually disappear on their own within 24–48 hours.
