Pixel 9 Pro XL

Pixel 9 Pro XL — what affects your choice of accessories

The Pixel 9 Pro XL measures 162.8 × 76.6 × 8.5 mm and weighs 221 g. Its flat 6.8-inch LTPO OLED screen and the back are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, the frame is aluminium and the body is IP68-rated. In this generation the Pixel changed its look: instead of a full-width bar it has an oval island with a 50 MP main camera, a 5x periscope telephoto and a 48 MP ultra-wide. The island protrudes above the back panel, and its shape requires a case designed for this generation.

The Pixel 9 Pro has the same styling and cameras, but a 6.3-inch screen and a shorter body. On the other hand, some screen protectors are shared with the Pixel 10 Pro XL — compatibility is always stated in the product name.

Pixel 9 Pro XL cases

A large phone with a glass back slips out of your hand easily, so it is worth choosing a case with a non-slip texture or reinforced corners. In this category you will find:

• rugged cases with a raised lip around the screen and the camera island,
• silicone and matte cases, thin and light,
• clear cases, also with a coloured frame,
• cases with a built-in magnetic ring, compatible with MagSafe,
• flip cases and aramid fibre cases.

Cases are available from Spigen, Ringke, Supcase, Tech-Protect and Bizon, among others.

Tempered glass and screen film for the Pixel 9 Pro XL

The flat screen makes it easy to fit tempered glass — clear, with a black frame or with an installation frame that helps you apply it straight. Hybrid glass, privacy glass, hydrogel, ceramic and matte films, and back film are also available. The fingerprint reader is located under the screen, so it is worth choosing protection with declared reader compatibility. Screen protection is offered by 3MK, PanzerGlass, GrizzGlass, MyScreen, Hofi, Spigen, Ringke and Bizon, among others.

Pixel 9 Pro XL camera glass and charging

Camera glass is fitted on individual lenses or over the whole island. The Pixel 9 Pro XL charges via USB-C at up to 37 W, wirelessly at up to 23 W on the Pixel Stand and up to 12 W on Qi chargers. There are no magnets in the body, so holders and MagSafe accessories require a case with a ring. You will find other models in the Google Pixel category.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Pixel 9 Pro case fit the Pixel 9 Pro XL?

No. Both models have the same camera island, but the Pixel 9 Pro XL is longer and wider, so it needs its own case.

Does the Pixel 9 Pro XL support magnetic chargers?

It charges wirelessly using the Qi standard, but has no built-in magnets. A case with a magnetic ring will hold a magnetic charger in place.
