Galaxy A05

Samsung Galaxy A05 — specs that matter for accessories

The Galaxy A05 (SM-A055) is the entry model of the A0x series, with a large screen. According to GSMArena, it has a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display with a 720 × 1600 resolution, a 168.8 × 78.2 × 8.8 mm body and weighs 195 g. The front is covered with glass, and the back is plastic. The phone has a 5000 mAh battery with 25 W wired charging, a USB-C port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. On the back there is a dual camera with a 50 MP main lens. The model differs from the Galaxy A05s, which has a 168 × 77.8 × 8.8 mm body, a 90 Hz Full HD+ screen and a different camera layout.

Galaxy A05 cases — which to choose?

Silicone and soft

Silicone or soft TPU cases sit comfortably in the hand, protect the back from scratches and absorb minor knocks. Mercury offers such models in many colours — from black and navy to pastel shades.

Clear

Gel and transparent cases preserve the look of the phone and barely add to its thickness. Mercury and 3MK make such models.

Reinforced

Cases with thicker corners, for example from 3MK, cope better with drops onto hard surfaces — a good choice for children and for anyone who often carries their phone in a jacket pocket.

Tempered glass and film for the Galaxy A05

• Tempered glass with a black frame — fully adhesive, it covers the entire front.
• Hybrid glass — thin, flexible and shatter-resistant.
• Matte film — reduces glare and fingerprints.
• Ceramic and hydrogel film — flexible protection that adheres to the entire screen.
• Matte privacy glass — narrows the screen's viewing angle.

Manufacturers describe some screen protectors as compatible with both the A05 and A05s — cases are not interchangeable in this way.

Camera and back protection

A camera lens protector keeps the lenses free of scratches, and a back film protects the plastic back if you use the phone without a case.

What to look for when choosing accessories for the Galaxy A05?

• Exact model — you will find the SM-A055 model number in Settings, under phone information.
• Charging — for the full 25 W, use a USB-C wall charger that supports Samsung fast charging.
• Successor and predecessor — accessories for the Galaxy A04 and Galaxy A06 do not fit the A05; you will find them in their own categories.

All models in the series are in the Galaxy A00 Series category.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Galaxy A05s case fit the Galaxy A05?

No. The two phones have different dimensions and camera layouts, so cases made for the A05s do not fit the A05 properly. Choose covers described as compatible with the Galaxy A05.

Which screen protector should I choose for the Galaxy A05?

For everyday use, full-screen tempered glass or flexible hybrid glass works well. If glare bothers you, choose a matte film.
