NOMAD Stratos Band Apple Watch 49mm z FKM (natural titanium, icy blue glow FKM)

Description

Hybrid construction titanium FKM
Stratos Band is a strap for the Apple Watch designed as a hybrid construction, combining external cells with titanium class 4 with a flexible core made of FKM. Titanium is responsible for stiffness, durability, and precise surface finishing, while FKM – as a high-performance fluoroelastomer – provides natural elasticity and resistance to water. The combination of these two materials creates a structure that does not behave like a traditional, rigid metal bracelet. The FKM segments placed between the links adapt to the movement of the wrist, which translates to stability and a more even distribution of pressure while wearing. The entire design has been conceived as a unified system, where the mechanical properties of the materials complement each other.
N52 magnetic clasp

The applied fastening mechanism uses class magnets. N52 about corrosion-resistant properties. The design was developed based on years of experience from previous projects, which allowed for more stable and predictable performance during use. The magnetic system is responsible for the quick fitting of components and keeping them in a fixed position, reducing the risk of accidental disconnection. The strength of the connection has been chosen to ensure a balance between safety and ease of use. In practice, this means the ability to easily put on and take off the strap without the need for traditional mechanical clasps. The design maintains its properties even under conditions of intensive use.
Structure adapted to movement

The segmented construction of the strap has been designed to respond to the natural movement of the wrist. Each titanium link is connected to an FKM element, which serves as a flexible connector. As a result, the strap does not create a uniform, rigid surface, but rather a system that adapts to the changing shape of the hand during movement. This solution reduces localized stress and improves the stability of the watch's position on the wrist. The design allows for the continuity of form while simultaneously increasing the range of motion of the entire system. As a result, a solution has been achieved that combines the properties of a metal construction with the flexibility of synthetic material.
FKM material and resistance
The applied FKM material is a fluoroelastomer with properties that allow for easy cleaning and resistance to water. The structure of the material enables washing with water and soap, which translates to the possibility of regular maintenance without affecting its usability properties. The strap has been designed to be resistant to moisture contact, although it is recommended to fully dry it after exposure to water before reusing it. The material properties of FKM support the durability of the entire construction and the stability of parameters during prolonged use.
Photoluminescence effect
The elements of the bar use a material with properties. photoluminescent, which absorbs light energy and emits it in low light conditions. To achieve the glowing effect, the strip should be exposed to a direct light source for about one hour. After charging, the material emits light for a certain period, the length of which depends on the intensity and duration of the previous exposure. The technology used has been deemed safe for use. The glowing process does not require additional power sources or electronic components; it relies solely on the properties of the material.
Project developed from scratch.
The Stratos Band construction was developed as a project built from the ground up over a period of more than two years. The design process involved multiple changes concerning both the geometry of the titanium cells and the integration of flexible FKM elements. Particular attention was paid to refining the curvature of the segments and their mutual fitting, which had a direct impact on ergonomics and usability stability. The final form is the result of optimizing structural parameters and material properties, which were improved during the prototyping and testing phase.
