Galaxy Z Flip 6 (2024) and Z Flip 7 FE (2025) are Samsung's foldable smartphones in a clamshell format. The foldable construction requires special cases that do not block the hinge and protect both halves of the body. Standard cases for bar-type phones do not fit.

Types of cases for Z Flip

• Two-piece cases (slim case) — two elements for the top and bottom halves, connected at the hinge. Thin, do not restrict folding
• Cases with ring / grip — add a ring holder or loop for holding. Useful because a folded Flip is small and easy to drop
• Cases with cover screen flap — protect both the back and the small outer screen
• Silicone / TPU cases — flexible covers wrapping the entire construction, with a cutout for the hinge

Screen protection

The Z Flip has two screens requiring protection:

• Inner screen (main, 6.7") — covered with a factory-applied protective film that Samsung does not recommend removing. An additional hydrogel film can strengthen protection, but must be compatible with folding
• Cover screen (outer screen) — small display on the flap. Tempered glass or film protects it from scratches by keys and coins in your pocket

Does a Z Flip 6 case fit the Z Flip 7 FE?

It depends on the dimensions — the Z Flip 7 FE is a Fan Edition variant with potentially changed dimensions. Check the product description to see if the case is labeled as compatible with your specific model.

Can tempered glass be applied to the inner screen of the Z Flip?

We do not recommend it. The inner screen is flexible and folds in half — hard tempered glass may crack during folding. Use only hydrogel films designed for foldable screens.
