How to Choose the Right Band Size?

Apple Watch comes in two size groups. Bands within a group are interchangeable across generations:

• 42/44/45/46/49 mm — larger case. Apple Watch Series 4-10 (44-46 mm), SE, Series 1-3 (42 mm) and Ultra (49 mm) all use the same band size
• 38/40/41/42 mm — smaller case. Series 4-10 (40-42 mm), SE, Series 1-3 (38 mm)
• Apple Watch Ultra — 49 mm case. Compatible with bands from the larger group, but Ultra also has dedicated Alpine Loop and Trail Loop bands

Types of Apple Watch Bands

Sport bands (silicone) are the most popular choice — lightweight, water-resistant, and available in many colors. Perforated versions provide better ventilation during workouts. Metal bracelets (Milanese loop, steel link) are suited for formal occasions and the office. Leather bands are a classic option, but are not suitable for contact with water. Nylon bands (including Alpine Loop) combine durability with low weight — they perform well for hiking and outdoor sports.

Apple Watch Cases and Bumpers

Protective cases are mounted on the watch case, shielding the sides and edges from impacts. Models with a built-in screen protector also protect the display. Available in transparent and matte variants, as well as colors matched to the case (Midnight, Starlight, silver, black).

Screen Protectors and Films

Tempered glass screen protectors for Apple Watch have cutouts shaped to fit the rounded display. Hydrogel films conform better to curved surfaces, but do not offer the same hardness as glass. For Watch Ultra, films are worth considering — the flat sapphire screen is already highly scratch-resistant on its own.

Does an Apple Watch Series 6 band fit Series 10?

Yes, as long as both watches belong to the same size group (e.g. 44 mm and 46 mm are the same group). The attachment mechanism has not changed since Series 1.

Does a protective case affect Apple Watch charging?

No. Cases have an open back that does not cover the sensors or the inductive charging coil. The watch can be charged without removing the case.
