Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra

Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra — big screen, slim body

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra measures 326.4 × 208.6 × 5.5 mm and weighs about 726 g. It has a 14.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a notch in the top bezel with two 12 MP cameras for video calls. The S Pen comes in the box and charges while magnetically attached to the back panel. When a tablet this large is dropped, the corners and screen are the most vulnerable, so a case with a stiffened back and a screen protector are the basics here.

Which Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra case should you choose?

Flip cases with a stylus holder

Dux Ducis flip cases with a stylus holder, Tech-Protect, Bizon and the original Samsung Book Cover and Note View Cover protect the screen in a bag and fold into a stand. Check whether the case leaves access to the S Pen charging area on the back panel.

Protective and clear cases

The Samsung Protective Standing Cover has reinforced corners and a kickstand. Ringke, Spigen and Supcase offer cases ranging from clear to rugged — with a tablet this large, models with a hard back work better.

Keyboard cases

The original Samsung Book Cover Keyboard turns the tablet into a workstation with a big screen. You will find more models in the keyboards category.

Screen glass for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra — what to choose?

When choosing glass, pay attention to the cutout for the camera notch — the protector must be made for that shape. The options are:

• tempered glass from PanzerGlass, Hofi, Ringke, Dux Ducis and Tech-Protect — a hard, smooth surface,
• hybrid glass from 3mk and GrizzGlass — thin, does not lift with a framed case,
• matte and paper-like films from 3mk and GrizzGlass — fewer reflections and resistance under the stylus, plus the original Samsung film,
• privacy glass from GrizzGlass — narrows the viewing angle.

GrizzGlass camera lens glass protects the protruding lenses on the back.

Compatibility with the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and S10 Ultra

Later Ultra generations have a similar body outline, which is why some cases and glass protectors in this category also list the Tab S9 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra in their names. Choose products that list the Tab S8 Ultra explicitly. The smaller models in the series have their own accessories: the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8+. The other models are gathered in the Galaxy Tab S8 Series category, and spare styluses in the styluses for phones and tablets category.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra case fit the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra?

Manufacturers design some cases for both models and say so in the name. A case made for just one model may have different cutouts for the camera or buttons.

Does screen glass get in the way of writing with the S Pen?

No — thin glass and films do not block the stylus. A matte film also increases tip resistance, which many people appreciate when taking notes.
