POCO F9 Ultra

POCO F9 Ultra — how it differs from the F9 Pro

According to the manufacturer, the POCO F9 Ultra measures 163.49 × 77.94 × 8.74 mm and weighs 235 g. It has a flat 6.9-inch AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, an aluminium frame and a glass-fibre composite back. Compared with the POCO F9 Pro, it is 6 mm taller, wider and almost 30 g heavier, and its camera island houses a periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.

A distinctive feature of the back is a subwoofer surrounded by an illuminated LED ring that signals notifications. The phone is the global version of the Chinese Redmi K100 Pro Max — the two differ in battery capacity, among other things, so it is worth comparing the dimensions of Chinese-market accessories before buying.

POCO F9 Ultra case — how to choose

When choosing a case, make sure the cut-out covers the whole camera module and the speaker on the back — a covered speaker plays more quietly, and an opaque material will hide the lighting. The manufacturer includes a clear case in the box, but for everyday use other types are worth considering:

• flexible cases — clear, they don't hide the colour of the body or the LED ring,
• semi-transparent cases with a frame — with a matte back and a coloured edge,
• cases with a magnetic ring — for those who use magnetic mounts and chargers,
• coloured cases — for those who prefer to change the look of their phone.

Case and tempered glass bundles let you protect the whole phone in one go.

POCO F9 Ultra tempered glass and screen protectors

The factory film, if there is one on the screen, will not protect it from cracking in a fall. On the flat 6.9-inch screen you can apply tempered glass — clear, with a black frame, matte or privacy. Glass that comes with an applicator frame makes it easier to fit evenly on a large surface. Thinner alternatives are hybrid glass and films: hydrogel, matte and ceramic. Camera lens protectors will cover the lenses, and a back film will protect the rear from scratches.

POCO F9 Ultra accessory brands

Accessories come from brands such as BizonMobile, GrizzGlass and 3mk — from thin cases to glass sets with a camera protector.

Charging the POCO F9 Ultra

The phone charges at up to 100 W wired and up to 50 W wirelessly; no charger is included in the box. For fast wired charging, choose a power adapter from the wall chargers category, and for your desk or bedside table — a wireless charger. Magnetic mounts and chargers are in the MagSafe accessories category — to use them, you need a case with a magnetic ring.

Frequently asked questions

Do POCO F8 Ultra accessories fit the F9 Ultra?

You shouldn't assume so — the F9 Ultra is thicker and heavier than its predecessor. Accessories for it are in the POCO F8 Ultra category, and other models in the POCO F Series category.

Does wireless charging work through a case?

Thin flexible cases usually don't block it. Thicker models and cases with metal parts can weaken charging — check the product description.
